Saturday afternoon, dispatch began receiving several calls from 13048 E. 16 St. in reference to shots being fired inside an apartment, according to Tulsa police.

Police say when the first two officers arrived, Evan Holt was coming out of the apartment with his hands up.

Holt told officers that he believed that someone had broken into his apartment and was still inside.

Police say they then learned Holt had fired at least six rounds from a shotgun. One of the rounds entered an adjoining apartment where three adults and three children were present.

According to officers, none of the rounds entered either of the upstairs apartments, which were also occupied at the time.

Inside Holt’s apartment, police say they found a 2-year-old child and twin 6-month-old infants. They say they also found a shotgun, several spent shotgun shells and several live shotgun rounds.

Police say no one was injured, and Holt has been arrested and charged with child endangerment and reckless handling of a firearm.
