Before the Tulsa Race Riot in 1921, Greenwood Avenue was known as "Black Wall Street." It was one of the most successful and wealthiest black communities in the country.

Now, there is a new exhibit celebrating The Greenwood Experience at the Tulsa International Airport.

One very cool aspect of the exhibit is if you stand in front of certain pieces it will ping your phone with videos and more information.

But, you may be wondering, why the airport?

“I figured it was a great opportunity to dispel that myth of going to an area that most people know nothing about and tell the story,” said Bill White with The Greenwood Experience.

You don't have to be a tourist to check out the exhibit, it's located in the Pre-Security Center Concourse near the rental car counters at TIA.
