A pair of fires at vacant houses have kept firefighters busy overnight. Tulsa firefighters had to return to a home near 55th and Newport after it apparently rekindled.
That home has been vacant for about a year, but neighbors reported the fire initially around 1 a.m. Firefighters were able to get the fire out pretty quickly but then had to return around 6 a.m. as it rekindled.
That came after another vacant home near Peoria and 75th Street North caught fire 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said the people living at the home moved out on Sunday, so there was no one at home when it burned.
A passerby noticed the fire and called it in. Turley and Tulsa firefighters both responded to that fire.
It's not clear how that one started.
