The Bassmaster High School National Championship is next week in Paris, Tennessee, and some local teen anglers will be there.
Oklahoma will be represented by the state champs --Garrett Baker and Gunner Baker of Mannford. The Bakers won on Keystone Lake last month to advance to the national stage.
A team from Broken Arrow, which came in second to the Bakers -- Mike Reiss and Eric Noyes -- also will be among those dropping lines into Kentucky Lake. They headed out for the tournament late on Friday afternoon.
"It's very challenging,” high school sophomore Reiss said. “You don't know what the other person has until weigh-in."
The full field fishes on the first two days of competition, then the top 12 teams compete on the final day to crown the 2016 champion.
