Police arrest a 25-year-old Edmond man they believe stabbed another man at random late Monday.

Officers say witnesses helped police locate the suspect, identified as Johnathan Ontiveros.

Police say just before midnight, the victim told them he was walking in the 3000 block of South Sheridan towards a convenience store when a man came out of nowhere and stabbed him.

Ontiveros was arrested for public intoxication and assault with a dangerous weapon.  The police arrest report states officers found a knife with what appeared to be blood on it in Ontiveros' back pocket.

Police say the victim was stable when EMSA took him to the hospital.

Tulsa County jail records show Johnathan Ontiveros was being held on a $15,000 bond with a court appearance set for July 28.
