Infant Dies In Tulsa Hospital; Woman Arrested For Child Abuse

A 4-month old child died at a Tulsa hospital after being found unresponsive at a Noble daycare. OSBI says the 4-month-old girl had been on life support since Friday night.

Police arrested 45 year old Melissa Clark on a child abuse complaint, after getting a call in response to an unresponsive child last Thursday at 505 Rolling Meadows Drive.

When they arrived, police and emergency crews say they found the baby unconscious. The child was taken to an emergency room in Norman but doctors transferred her to a Tulsa hospital, where she was over the weekend.

Investigators say the doctor told police the baby's injuries were consistent with child abuse. That's when Clark was booked in the Cleveland County Jail.

The Department of Human Services has since shut down Clark's day care.
