Many Democrats from Oklahoma are getting ready for the party's national convention. Later this week, it is expected that Hillary Clinton officially will be named the Democratic candidate for president.

A few Oklahomans are traveling to the convention from Tulsa International Airport.

Bernice Mitchell expects the Democratic National Convention to be 'electrifying.'

“It's like one constant party," she said.

She's heading to her fourth DNC with her husband, Earl, who is an Oklahoma delegate.

“Oh, it's going to be very, very exciting,” she said. “Particularly for me. I don't have to be at a certain place at a certain time. He does,  because he's the one that has to cast a vote, but I'm just excited to be there and see it all.”

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) won the Oklahoma primary. And Earl says more than half of the delegates plan to vote for him at the convention.

“I was on a conference call with the Bernie delegates two days ago, in which the issue was stay the course in terms of issues that Bernie pushes - same issues as I push, too, but we have to support Hillary," he said.

While delegates have been planning on attending the convention for months, others are flying out to Philadelphia on Sunday just hoping to get a seat inside.

"I don't have a delegate pass, but I told my friends I'll either be inside some way or another or I'll be outside hassling the Bernie supporters," Melody Vincent said.

Earl is ready to give his up for his wife at least once this week.

“On the night [Hillary is] nominated, if my wife doesn't get a free pass, she will use my pass to go on the floor to cast that vote,” he said.
