Two Suspected Robbers In Custody After Tulsa Police Chase

Police have two people in custody following an armed robbery and high speed chase across Tulsa early Thursday.

Officers said it began with a reported armed robbery of an individual in the parking lot of a Tulsa restaurant at 71st and Lewis at about 3:40 a.m. 

Police responding spotted a car resembling the description of the suspect's vehicle and stopped it at a QuikTrip at 47th and Yale.  When the female driver got out of the car to talk to officers, a male passenger got in the driver's seat and sped away. 

During the chase, police said the driver tossed a items taken in the robbery out a window.  Those items were recovered and the car eventually crashed near Interstate-44 and 11th Street.  

After a short foot chase, the suspect was taken into custody.

Both suspects were taken downtown to be questioned by investigators.
