Former Tulsa track athlete Bryce Robinson clocked a time of 10.42 in the first round of the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympics Trials Saturday afternoon at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Robinson’s time failed to move him into the semifinals of the 100m, an event he qualified for with a time of 9.99.
Robinson, who graduated this past May from Tulsa, will compete in the first round of the 200 meters on Thursday (July 7) at 5:30 pm (PT).
Carl Stones (2008-12), a 2012 Tulsa All-American, will race in the first round of the 3000m steeplechase on Monday (July 4) at 4:03 pm (PT).
Tulsa has two current runners participating in the Canadian Championships next week, Thursday-Sunday, July 7-10, in Edmonton, Alberta. Ben Preisner, who will be a junior in the fall at Tulsa, will run on Saturday (July 9) in the Canadian Championship finals of the 3,000m steeplechase for a spot on the Canadian Olympic team.
Braydon Rennie, an upcoming sophomore on the Tulsa track team, will participate in the 1,500-meter first round race on Thursday, July 7. He is looking to qualify for World Juniors in Poland.
