The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports an elderly Depew couple died in a crash involving a pickup and a semi on Highway 75 in Okmulgee County Friday afternoon.

Troopers said the crash happened at the intersection of the highway and 241st Street South near Winchester just before 5 p.m.

The OHP report states Alvin Cooper, 82, of Depew  was driving a 1993 Dodge Dakota that collided with a 2015 Freightliner driven by James Shipley, 58, of Henryetta.

The semi struck the Dodge Dakota, killing Cooper and his passenger, Elvie Cooper, 82, also of Depew.

Troopers said Shipley was not injured.

The OHP report said Cooper failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection.
