Police in Broken Arrow arrest a man and woman officers said had a meth pipe in their car - within reach of their 18-month-old girl. Police said officers pulled over Coweta residents Amera Davis and Heath Chalakee Monday night for a broken brake light.
According to the arrest report, Davis seemed nervous, prompting officers to search the vehicle. They found a meth pipe and a box with other paraphernalia, including a syringe, on the floorboard below the girl's car seat.
Police arrested Davis, who was driving the vehicle. They said she had Xanax bars in her purse.
Chalakee was arrested after police say he was trying to hide a baggie of meth by holding it against the baby's leg. Both are now in the Tulsa County jail.
The 32-year-old woman was booked on complaints of possession of a possession of a controlled drug in the presence of a minor, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Records show she has a previous felony drug conviction.
Chalakee, 43, was booked for the same complaints.
The arrest report states the toddler was released to family.
