One of the secrets to Oklahoma State’s success is Utropolis, the dinosaur that took the Cowboy dugout by storm during the NCAA Tournament.

"We're here to win this thing, and Utrop's here to win this thing,” said OSU infielder David Petrino. “When you put the pride that we have in this program, with Utrop's want to win, we're unstoppable. We might slip up, drop a game, that might happen. [I] can't tell you it's not going to happen, but we'll be back. We're just excited at the opportunity we have here to win the World Series with Utrop by our side."

Petrino and fellow infielder Jacob Chappell are the main caretakers for Utropolis, who sleeps in Chappell’s room.

"Oh it's not bad; he sleeps right next to me,” stated Chappell. “He's got a nice little pillow he chills on. He sleeps like a rock.”

Utropolis is such a good dinosaur that Chappell isn’t even worried about being attacked by him.

“He's the nicest dinosaur out there,” said Chappell. “I don't know if you've met any dinosaurs, but he's the best there is. He loves milk and cookies, so feed him that and he's good to go.”

But how did the Cowboys’ newest addition get his name?

"Well, he's pretty tropical,” explained Petrino. “You just look at him yourself; you'll notice he's tropical, so what better name than Utrop?”

Petrino also says Utropolis loves the guys and most of the guys love him, so the team is ready to take on World Series play.
