A man was hurt in a lawnmower accident at Gilcrease Museum Friday morning.
Tulsa firefighters were called to the museum in the 1400 block of Gilcrease Museum Road just before 7 a.m.
They say the man was mowing along a hill on the north side of the property and got too close to the edge. Firefighters said the riding mower tipped and rolled down the slope. It finally came to rest upside down on top of the man.
The fire department says he wasn't using any of the mower's safety gear, which they said could have protected the man.
"If your equipment has any safety features on it whatsoever, a roll bar over the top or a safety belt, please do wear that," said Tulsa firefighter Jeffrey Waits.
EMSA took the man to the hospital and the fire department says he had non life-threatening injuries.
