An 18-year-old boy from Nowata is charged with trying to blackmail a 15-year old girl into sending him nude pictures.
The teen is already facing rape charges in two separate cases from 2013 and 2015. It's a story first reported by the Oologah Lake Leader.
Major Coy Jenkins said 18-year-old Dylan Boswell tried to use intimidation and blackmail to coerce a 15-year-old to send him nude pictures of herself.
“[He] established some type of verbal relationship with an underage minor female,” Jenkins said.
Police said on May 19th, Boswell used the Snap Chat app to contact the girl, but she refused his requests.
Jenkins said, "He was using coercion and intimidation tactics to try and get this done."
Police said after his attempts failed, Boswell sent a message to the girl's parents, claiming she was sexually active and sending nude pictures to others.
According to Jenkins, Boswell’s goal was still to “solicit nude photographs of her.”
Police said Boswell told the girl he contacted her parents and threatened her.
"Suggesting that he would provide certain types of information about her integrity, character, to her parents," Jenkins said.
The family contacted police who arrested Boswell. He's charged with soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology.
This isn't the first time Boswell has been accused of sexual misconduct. He also faces two rape charges in Nowata County - both victims are 13-year-old girls.
Detectives are worried Boswell might have contacted others.
“It makes it more crucial to us to turn every leaf over," said Jenkins.
Boswell is free on bond. His next court date is June 29th.
