One of the legends of Motown appeared on News On 6 at Noon Wednesday. Ms. Mary Wilson, co-founder of the hit group "The Supremes" joined anchor Dave Davis to discuss life performing with the groundbreaking hit group.

She's in Tulsa to celebrate the opening of a new exhibit at the Woody Guthrie Center. "Legends of Motown: Celebrating The Supremes," opens Thursday.

The Supremes included Wilson, Diana Ross and Florence Ballard with songs "Stop, In The Name Of Love," "Baby Love," and "Where Did Our Love Go?"

The exhibit will include photographs from Ms. Wilson's personal collection, concert posters, fan memorabilia and some performance gowns including:

  • "Primette Pristine" gowns worn in 1961, one of the earliest sets purchased by the Supremes when they were still known as the Primettes
  • "White De Mink" outfit worn on ABC's "The Hollywood Palace" in 1966
  • "Turquoise Freeze" dresses worn during a 1967 appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show"
  • "Red Hot" gown worn by Mary Wilson on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1970 for the debut of the new Supremes lineup featuring Cindy Birdsong and Jean Terrell

Members can get tickets to a special question and answer session Wednesday night. The exhibit will continue through September 25 at the Woody Guthrie Center in the Brady Arts District.
