Police says two men pistol-whipped a homeowner and shot his dog during a home invasion robbery in east Tulsa early Wednesday.

Officers said the incident happened at a home in the 2900 block of South 138th East Avenue at about 1 a.m.

The two men walked in the front door, demanded property from the homeowner then pistol-whipped him, according to police.

Authorities said the homeowner's dog, which chased the pair outside, was shot in the shoulder by one of the suspects.

Police set a perimeter and searched the area but could not find the two men.

The dog was taken to local vet to be treated for the gunshot wound.  Another resident in the home was not injured, according to police.

No word if the two robbers actually took anything.
