They've come from the land down under, and they've come to win.
"We obviously want to do well and represent our state and get our names out there to try and move us up the scale in the cycling world," said New South Wales cyclist Liam Magennis.
His fellow teammate Jake Kauffman added, “Coming to the U.S. is a really big stepping stone for these guys who might go on to bigger and better careers."
The New South Wales Australian Cycling Team is in town for the Tulsa Tough.
This cycling group, full of veterans and up and comers, are mostly new to traversing the Tulsa roads. But they're not new to winning, taking home medals in various World Cup, Road Race, and Elite Track competitions.
Now, it's time for the team to take over North America as Tulsa is the first of seven events.
"We definitely have some firepower on the team and potentially could win this race, but there's a lot of good riders out there," said Kauffmann.
For the Australians, they're just excited about challenging the Blue Dome District Course Friday night.
"Back home you see Kangaroos crossing the road, here you see squirrels and I think we saw a Bobcat the other day," stated cyclist Jackson Law.
Magennis added, "Obviously, we're riding on the other side of the road, so we always got to get to the left."
