Okmulgee County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people Thursday after stopping a vehicle on Interstate-40 and finding four pounds of marijuana hidden in the couple's luggage.
The sheriff's office says Chantal Beckett and Seqnrigue James had consented to a search of their vehicle. Deputies said the marijuana is believed to have a street value of $16,000.
Both Beckett and James were booked into jail on a complaint of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Thursday's arrests follows a June 5 incident on the same stretch of I-40 in which two men were accused of tossing 20 pounds of marijuana from a car during a police chase into McIntosh County.
The two, Bronislaw Cutter and Cinque Gadson drove off when a deputy tried to stop their vehicle.
Deputies recovered the marijuana which they said had a street value of $60,000 and booked both Arizona men into the Okmulgee County jail.
