A Tulsa man was jailed for arson after police say he set a fire that forced a woman and her 7-month-old infant from their home. Jeremy Bennett was taken into custody late Wednesday night.

Arrest records show Bennett, 28, set fire to an apartment at 553 East 32nd Street North in the Bradford complex. Firefighters were called the scene at 8:45 p.m.

They found the two-story apartment complex with fire damage they say had multiple points of origin. The woman who lived there told them Bennett used a lighter to set a mattress on fire.

She and her 7-month-old baby left the apartment home. Firefighters say they did recover a red lighter from the damaged apartment.
