The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested a 41-year-old man on kidnapping, DUI complaints after a stolen pickup chase early Saturday.
Troopers said they attempted to stop the 2013 Chevy Silverado headed westbound on a road next to I-44 near the Broken Arrow Expressway just after 4 a.m. The OHP says they briefly backed off their high speed pursuit when they saw a female passenger open a door and try to jump out.
The truck eventually stopped in a business parking lot in the 4300 block of South Mingo Road and the woman ran from the truck. After a brief struggle troopers arrested Christopher Moreno of Broken Arrow. The pickup turned out to be stolen.
The OHP report stated the woman said Moreno had offered her a ride to a Tulsa apartment complex. She said when Moreno started driving a different direction and "driving crazy" she tried numerous times to escape but Moreno wouldn't stop.
Troopers said a search of the truck turned up baggie containing what appeared to be Meth and Moreno appeared to be under the influence.
The OHP booked Christopher Moreno into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of DUI, kidnapping, possession of drugs, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.
Jail records show Moreno has a June 10 court hearing.
