People gathered at Tulsa's Rose Hill Cemetery to honor those who fought for the Union during the Civil War.

Organizers dressed in replica uniforms and laid a wreath at the Grand Army of the Republic monument. There were also carnations to remember family members.

"We want them to remember the sacrifice of veterans, like I was telling about my great-great-great uncle. He was 24 years old, he saw combat, front line combat for at least two years, so a major part of his adult life he spent in combat and he gave away all of his tomorrows," said Rex Griffin with Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

Organizers said Monday's ceremony wasn't just to honor those who fought in the Civil War, but also all generations of veterans.
