Tulsa police say a 22-year-old man was shot accidentally in the buttocks by his roommate on Tuesday before 7 p.m.
Officers say a man was in the kitchen of the residence at the Creekside Apartments when he picked up a single-shot .410 shotgun.
He told police he didn’t remember that the shotgun was loaded and accidentally fired off a round.
The shotgun blast went upstairs and hit his roommate.
“Case panicked and carried the victim to his truck to take him to the hospital and called 911,” a report says. “Dispatch advised him to pull into the parking lot of the Walmart so the victim could be treated by EMSA and TFD.”
The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say both parties were cooperative, and the evidence and interviews in the incident match. They have deemed it an accidental shooting.
