Senior Safety, Lifestyles To Be Addressed At Tulsa Event

Seniors can learn more about how to stay safe including avoiding common scams at the third annual Senior Lifestyle Fair next week. Tulsa Police Department and the Oklahoma Insurance Commission are hosting the event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at the Tulsa Fairgrounds Central Park Hall.

Enjoy a free breakfast as the senior fair kicks off with a talk from Ray Walker of the state insurance commission. Seating is limited for the breakfast, so sign up now by calling 918-596-9209 or going online to the Oklahoma Insurance Commission site.

The event focuses on senior safety and protection from scams but will also address healthcare and life enrichment, a release states. Guest speakers include Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler and Judge Terry Bitting.

News On 6 crime reporter and anchor Lori Fullbright is scheduled to speak at 11:10 a.m.

There will be door prizes, exhibits, entertainment and educational activities.

"We want people to know that we celebrate our seniors for what they have contributed to our community.” said Senior Crimes Detective Debbie Crisp, with the police departments Senior Services Unit.
