Hundreds of Green Country students now know more about the benefits of bugs.
Area master gardeners held an event at the fairgrounds today to help third through fifth-graders learn more about insects.
Children could try out 17 different events, everything from testing fresh honey to an insect olympics.
Carolyn Rogers, Master Gardener, said, "Too many children, when they grow up, they hear people, 'Ooh, ugh, yuck, don't touch that' and we want while they're at this young age, we want to help them learn not to be afraid of bugs."
This is the first year for the event. The master gardeners say they had such a great response, they had to turn some schools away because they didn't have enough room.
