Tulsa police are investigating after receiving reports of shots fired during two armed robberies late Thursday night.

Just after 9:00 p.m., TPD responded to the 2800 block of North Peoria Avenue after reports of a possible attempted armed robbery with shots fired at a Dollar General.

Witnesses tell News On 6 two men walked in and demanded money. When the clerk told them he didn't have a key for the register, the witness said the men shot at the register before leaving.

Police said one of the men punched the clerk in the face, but said no one was hit.

Police are investigating.

A few minutes after this armed robbery, police received another report of shots fired at a McDonald's in the 2100 block of Southwest Boulevard.

Police said a man walked in and fired into the ceiling, approached the cash register, demanded money then fired into the ground. They said as the register opened, the shooter reached over the counter for the money then fired a third shot into the register.

They said the shooter seemed to get frustrated and left without any money.

Police have not confirmed the shootings are connected, but said the descriptions from both robberies match.
