A Tulsa car chase ends with a multiple vehicle crash and arrest late Friday.

Police said an officer spotted a suspected DUI driver of a Ford Taurus jump a curb in the 6800 block of East Admiral just after 10:30 p.m. and attempted to stop the driver.

When the car's driver slowed down, a passenger jumped out and ran away.  Officers said the car driven by 58-year-old Orville Ford then sped off.  After a short chase, police said Ford collided with three cars waiting on North Sheridan at the I-244 overpass for a red light.

Officers said Ford then got out of the car and ran with police in pursuit.  After catching up with Ford, police said Ford had to be tazed in order to place him under arrest.

Inside the car, the police report stated they found a spilled liquor bottle, open beer can inside the car and Ford showed signs of intoxication.

Police booked Orville Ford into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding, hit and run, DUI, and interfering with a police officer.  Jail records show Ford is being held on a $43,300 bond with a court appearance set for April 29.
