For the seventh time, the decision to allow the building of a CVS store at the corner of 15th and Utica is up in the air.
The council voted unanimously to send the plan back to the Tulsa Metropolitan area planning commission.
During Thursday night’s council meeting, a new site design was shown.
CVS supporters hope the new design will better fit the Small area plan.
Terry Meier says the CVS design still doesn’t meet the building criteria.
"It was a hard-fought plan that was years in the making and now the first time it's being tested, it's close enough," said Meier.
The proposed CVS would be one story with a large parking lot.
Most of the buildings in the area are multi-storied and near the street.
"It's a waste of tax resources when we have the plan,” stated Meier. “If it was followed none of this would be going on."
The planning commissions will make its recommendation April 20th.
It's important to point out, the commission makes can recommend a vote for or against the development, but the council makes the absolute decision. That could come sometime in May.
