Tahlequah's School Robot Team To Be Showcased At The White House

The White House says four Tahlequah students from Woodall Public School will be participating in this year’s Science Fair hosted by President Obama in Washington, D.C. April 12 - 13.

Ty Brant, 12, Anthony Maldonado, 13, Benjamin Woolen, 13, and Taylor Wingo, 12, are all members of the Woodall Cybercats Robotics Team and they recently took home a trophy at the First Lego League Robotics Competition.

The team designed and build a robot to compete in a game-based engineering challenge.

The team’s robot will be showcased at the White House Science Fair along with projects from 100 other top science, technology, engineering, and math students from across the country.

The event on Wednesday will be live streamed at www.whitehouse.gov/live.

And five Tulsa Girl Scouts calling themselves the "Supergirls" who attended the 2015 White House Science Fair with their invention have been invited back for this year's White House Science Fair.

The girls from Troop 411 created a battery-powered page turning device out of Legos to make it easier for people with disabilities to turn the pages of a book.
