Tulsa’s gun club took a hard hit from one of Wednesday’s tornadoes. Now members and volunteers are working to get the clubhouse roof fixed and several of the ranges back open.

At first light on Thursday, Osage SkyNews 6 HD Pilot Will Kavanagh caught the damage done to the Tulsa Gun Club, which sits just north of the Tulsa Airport, between the two hardest hit areas from Wednesday's tornado.

Most of the clubhouse's roof is in the middle of the trap shooting field.

One of the cinder block trap houses collapsed, and the high winds blew over several of the stages at the "Tulsey Town" shooting area.

Since the tornado, it's taken a group effort to get the club cleaned up.

"They've brought equipment, they've brought Bobcats, and one guy brought in a tractor with a front-end loader on, so we were able to move a lot of heavy stuff, this whole area was covered with debris," said Andrew Schmeltz with the Tulsa Gun Club.

The club isn't exclusive - it hosts several shooting competitions and conceal carry classes year round.

Members are happy for all the help because they know insurance won't be able to cover everything.

Schmeltz said, "If people continue to pitch in, we will survive. We may look a little different, but we will survive."

To help cover the costs the club is raising money through an online fundraising site.
