Tulsa firefighters put out a small fire at the McLain High School football stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Smoke could be seen coming from 46th St. North at Melvin Driver Stadium before 3 p.m., but firefighters arrived quickly to extinguish the flames.

The fire was limited to the east side, at the concession area.

When TFD arrived, they found a pile of blocking dummies and hurdles that had been pulled out from underneath the grandstand on fire, which caught the overhead door in the concession area on fire, officials said.

According to witnesses, about 1 p.m. kids about 11 or 12 years old were seen in the stands, and they said it is common for kids to play on the field.

The fire is under investigation.
