UTSA Hires OU Assistant Steve Henson As Head Coach

The University of Texas at San Antonio announced Friday the hiring of Oklahoma basketball assistant coach Steve Henson.

Henson has been the Sooners assistant since 2011. 

Before joining the Sooner staff, Henson spent seven seasons at UNLV as an assistant coach under Lon Kruger before his move to Norman.

Henson also worked with Kruger in the NBA and at the University of Illinois and starred under him at K-State in the late 1980s.

As of now, he’s in Houston with the Sooners, preparing for their Final Four matchup with Villanova Saturday at 5:09 p.m.
