Arts programs are often the first to be cut when schools face a budget crisis.

Tuesday, Tulsa Public Schools celebrated what they called "Drop Everything and Create!"

It was a way to celebrate creativity and encourage support for school arts programs, which teachers said helps students do better in school.

"Their SAT scores are higher, their attendance rates are higher, their graduation rate is higher. So it's really important to have kids involved in art education," said art teacher, Richard Willis.

March is Youth Art Month. You can see more artwork on Twitter by searching #TPSArts.
