Bartlesville city officials say work will finally begin next week on the new public safety complex.
The long-awaited project was stalled due to a legal issue after bids were opened in November 2015.
“We faced some hurdles in getting this project started, but we are scheduled to begin construction at the site on March 21,” said City of Bartlesville Director of Engineering Micah Siemers.
The complex will be located on the northwest corner of Johnstone Avenue and Adams Boulevard.

Funds for the $6 million project was approved by voters in a 2012 general obligation bond issue election. The complex will include a new police station and an expansion of the existing central fire station on the north end of the site.
Construction of the complex is expected to take 12 months.
