GRDA Releases Name Of Man Who Died Saturday At Grand Lake

The Grand River Dam Authority has released the name of a man who died Saturday, March 5 at Grand Lake. Authorities say James C. Myers was taking items down to a private dock in the Elk River arm of Grand Lake around noon when he fell and struck his head. 

The 77-year-old Joplin man then fell into the water, according to Justin Alberty, GRDA communications director.

GRDA says there were witnesses to the incident which appears to have been an accidental death. 

GRDA Police Chief Brian Edwards said on Saturday that they believe Myers died before falling into the water.
