Presidential candidates from both parties visited Oklahoma Sunday in advance of the Super Tuesday primary approaches. Senator Ted Cruz appeared at the Tulsa Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon.
"Oklahoma is a battleground," Cruz told supporters, adding that his is the only campaign that can beat fellow candidate Donald Trump. "Oklahoma has an opportunity - has a voice for the nation."
"Pick up the phone, call your friends. Pick up the phone, call your family. Say this election matters, come out and vote on Tuesday. Stand together for Oklahoma. Stand together for freedom."
Conservative radio host Glenn Beck and Congressman Jim Bridenstine welcomed Cruz on stage. Doors opened at noon at the Central Park Hall, on the east side of the fairgrounds near the racetrack.
Cruz made a campaign stop in Tulsa just before Christmas, speaking at the ORU Mabee Center. Cruz received standing ovations at that event when he talked about big government and abolishing the IRS and the Department of Education.
