"This is my first time at a political rally ever," said Norman resident Annie Terrill. "I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that he wins."
Before the rally, News On 6 reporter Annie Change spotted the presidential candidate walking around the Brady Arts District and asked him what he thought of the city.
""Well, the Woody Guthrie Museum is something. Woody Guthrie is an old hero of mine. An extraordinary man," he said.
This is Sanders’ only scheduled stop in Oklahoma. Doors opened at 4 p.m. and he’s scheduled to start speaking at 7:00 Wednesday night.
Oklahoma is one of only five states where Sanders is running television ads, so our state is shaping up to be a key battleground state between Sanders and rival Hillary Clinton.
Sanders isn’t the only candidate making his way to Oklahoma this week. Republican candidates Donald Trump and Marco Rubio are making appearances in Oklahoma City on Friday.
Oklahoma’s primary is March 1st, you can find more information about the election and where to vote.
NewsOn6.com will be live streaming Sanders' rally and over the air on channel 6.3 and Cox cable channel 53.
We will also be doing the same with Trump's and Rubio's visits to Oklahoma City Friday afternoon and evening.
