Grass Fires Burn East, West Of Owasso

<p>Like a lot of areas across Oklahoma tonight, fires are raging near Owasso. There are grass fires on both sides of U.S. Highway 169, which is both east and west of Owasso.</p>

Like a lot of areas across Oklahoma tonight, fires are raging near Owasso.

There are grass fires on both sides of U.S. Highway 169, which is both east and west of Owasso.

One is near the high school, close to the golf course.

A Limestone grass rig got too close to the flames and sustained a little damage, but it is still operable, the chief says. Firefighters were able to evacuate and one was injured.

There also were fires near the sports complex north of Bailey Medical Center. That inched close to homes, but was stopped near 112 St. North.

No houses burned.

Firefighters also are working spot fires in the area.
