Tulsa's Hale High School was placed on a modified lockdown Tuesday morning as authorities investigated a social media threat by a student. Police arrested a male student in the incident.

The school district says the lockdown was a precaution based on a Tulsa Police Department investigation into the possible threat.

At about 10:30 a.m. TPS said it was notified the alleged student involved was in custody, and the modified lockdown was lifted.

Tulsa Public Schools spokesman Chris Payne issued the following statement:

Safety is a priority at Tulsa Public Schools. Hale High School has been placed on a modified lockdown today as a precaution based on a Tulsa Police Department investigation into a possible social media threat.

TPS Campus Police and the Tulsa Police Department will be on campus for assistance and support. Campus Police will work closely with the Tulsa Police Department to provide assistance as needed.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. the alleged student involved is in custody of TPD and we have taken the school off of the modified lockdown.
