The Pioneer Woman is ready to expand her business.
Ree Drummond, who catapulted to fame through her blog, has announced that her deli and mercantile in downtown Pawhuska will open in August. She and her husband have been renovating a historic building there since spring 2012.
The blogger has written about the renovation process from start to finish, sharing all her decisions -- from deciding to preserve a brick wall with an old National Biscuit Company advertisement to picking bathroom sinks. She said it has been a labor of love and she and her husband Ladd wanted to maintain as much historical integrity as possible.
The more than 25,000-square foot building also is said to hold upstairs business offices for the Drummond Ranch.
Last month, the couple reportedly bought a second historic building in Pawhuska, the former Osage Mercantile Building, but they haven't revealed their plans for that three-story treasure.
Ree is known nationwide for the blog that catapulted her to fame, and she has authored books and cookbooks since. She also can be seen on the Food Network. Her cooking show is filmed on the family’s sprawling Osage County ranch and around the Pawhuska area. She designed a cookware line that is sold in Walmart stores.
