Ochelata Family Cheers On Their Children's Namesake Peyton Manning

An Oklahoma family has been waiting for the Super Bowl for weeks.

They've taken a love for Denver quarterback Peyton Manning to new heights. Their admiration has gotten them through some tough times, as their youngest child has suffered some serious medical setbacks.

"Peyton Manning has been a big influence on us, we look forward to watching his football games, and it gives us something to get excited for," Kylee Scott said.

Kylee and James Scott were big football fans before they had kids, with James playing college ball at Fresno State.

But Kylee says she always had a soft spot for NFL player Peyton Manning and the way he played the game.

"As I followed him through his career, he was just really an overall great person and he really inspired me,” Kylee said.

So they named their two sons Peyton and Manning in hopes they would grow up idolizing an athlete with strong values.

Manning, who is on the Autism spectrum and suffers from a congenital heart defect, needed a heart transplant when he was just 1 year old.

“When I see Peyton Manning, who had such a challenging year this year, and he just refuses to fail, he just refuses to give up, and he just keeps going,” Kylee said. “… and we have to use that in our lives because we have challenges that we face with Manning."

Little Manning has had a rough year, suffering from a blood clot and a bone marrow virus.

But on Super Bowl Sunday, the Oklahoma football family will cheer on the NFL player who inspires them to have strength.

“We're going to celebrate it with our friends and our family and the people who have been a part of our lives helping us through this journey with Manning,"

Win or lose, the family is glad their team and their player has gotten this far.

"No matter what, I'll always be a Peyton Manning fan," Peyton Scott said.
