<p>Not long after fighting in World War II, Sylvester Franklin began teaching in the town of Haskell. For 65 years he helped educate the children of his community. He inspired kids to reach for a brighter future. He helped them to know they were valued. Mr. Franklin retired from teaching fulltime recently - at the age of 90.</p>

Not long after fighting in World War II, Sylvester Franklin began teaching in the town of Haskell. For 65 years he helped educate the children of his community. He inspired kids to reach for a brighter future. He helped them to know they were valued. Mr. Franklin retired from teaching fulltime recently - at the age of 90. He didn’t get rich and he won’t receive a medal, but his quiet dedication is worth celebrating.
