A Collinsville man is in critical condition after crashing his motorcycle into a barrier wall on U.S. Highway 169 on Saturday night, a report says.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Richard Denney, 55, was southbound on U.S. 169 at 61st Street in Tulsa when he lost control and struck the wall to the left. The motorcycle traveled about 200 feet from the point of impact and Denney was thrown another 100 feet from his bike, the OHP report says.

Denney was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries, the trooper said.

The cause of the crash was “speeds greater than reasonable or proper,” and Denney’s condition at the time of the crash is under investigation, according to the report.

The trooper said Denney was not wearing a helmet.
