Drivers headed west on the Broken Arrow Expressway can expect delays starting Friday and will continue mainly on weekends through April.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is scheduled to close two westbound lanes of the Broken Arrow Expressway in the stretch from Lewis to Boston for concrete replacement by 7 p.m.

Once this project is complete, ODOT says a similar concrete replacement project will get underway eastbound in the same stretch of the BA Expressway.  The department says that work should be done in about 90 days and again, mainly on the weekends.

ODOT says eventually they will do a full reconstruction of the BA Expressway.  No date has been set for that project.

Drivers are advised to use caution and find an alternative route especially on the weekends until the work is done.
