Broken Arrow is currently assessing the condition of all of its streets.
In a news release, the city says the assessment is part of an effort to develop a multi-year road repair plan.
Officials say renewal of the Vision 2025 sales tax will enhance the city's road maintenance budget which is estimated to be $3.3 million annually.
“This survey will give us an accurate depiction of the condition of our entire road system. Not only will the final report be useful in maintaining the current status, but it will also allow us to devise a plan of action to improve overall road conditions,” said Steve Arant, Director of Streets and Stormwater.
Officials say a small white bus marked with the letters “IMS” is criss-crossing the city using a combination of lasers and digital cameras to capture the condition of Broken Arrow's 622 miles of streets.
