Road repairs from a water main break will likely cause a major slowdown for rush hour traffic Tuesday morning in Tulsa.
The break itself has been repaired in the northbound lanes of Mingo between 41st and 42nd Streets, but it's the roadwork that's going to be a problem.
Normally Mingo at that point is a four-lane road, but now it's down to two lanes. All traffic is diverted to the southbound lanes.
Rick Caruthers, City of Tulsa Water Distribution Manager, told News On 6 crews hope to have two southbound lanes and one northbound lane open Tuesday afternoon.
By Wednesday afternoon, they hope to have all lanes open.
City of Tulsa crews were called out to the 8-inch line break Monday afternoon and repaired it. The city website shows no homes or businesses were affected.
There are no road closures on 41st Street, and drivers still have access to Highway 169 and the Broken Arrow Expressway.
