Grant Hermes joined the Griffin family in August of 2015. He spent a year in Waco, TX and got to cover national stories like the Ebola outbreak and the Twin Peaks biker gang shooting.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Grant grew up a Vikings and Twins fan. But he’s happily traded the Timberwolves for the Thunder, frequently wearing his orange and blue tie to Thunder Up!
Grant graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2014. There he wrote for the school’s paper, did newscasts on the radio and on TV. He’s always had a love for news, particularly politics. He double majored in Journalism and political science and is a self-described nerd.
When not covering the big stories of the day, he plays music and rides his mountain bike. (although Oklahoma may not be the best place for that) He grew up playing piano, singing and recently learned the guitar. You may even see him at Blazer’s hockey rink from time to time playing a game of pick up.
Grant is excited to join the team and call Oklahoma his new home. He knows Oklahomans are big hearted, hardworking people and can’t wait to tell the stories that matter to them. If you see him around don’t hesitate to stop and say hi! If you have a story idea you can email him.
