More than 10,000 people attended the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade in downtown Tulsa Monday morning.
It started at 11 a.m. and is one of the largest parades in the country. This year's parade theme was "One Race: The Human Race." They had a record number of floats with around 300 entries.
There are several road closures affecting traffic through the early afternoon. The roads were closed starting at 7:30 a.m.
The part of John Hope Franklin Boulevard that wraps around the OSU-Tulsa campus and ONEOK Field was closed. So was Elgin from Brady to 1st Street.
The parade route will remain closed until 1:30 this afternoon. The closures in the disbanding area will last until 2 p.m.

The holiday also brings closures to most City of Tulsa offices including City Hall, recreation centers and city golf courses. There will be no delay in trash and bulky waste services, however.
Tulsa Transit will be up and running.
The Tulsa Zoo, Gilcrease Museum and Tulsa Performing Arts Center are also closed.
The city's mulch site is closed and will reopen Tuesday with its usual 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours.
