A car theft victim chased down a teenage girl who reportedly stole his car, according to Tulsa Police. The theft took place Sunday outside a Quik-Stop store at 1115 East 61st Street.

Police say a man left his Chevy Impala running in the parking lot when he went into the store. A 17-year-old girl jumped into the Impala and drove off.

The victim quickly got in a friend's car, and they followed the Chevrolet down Peoria to westbound Interstate 44, a news release states.

The victim called police, and Officer Josh Goldstein caught up with them and tried to pull the girl over. Police say she hit a sign while exiting the highway then drove to a Domino's Pizza at 51st and 33rd West Avenue.

Police say she slowed down to about 5 m.p.h. and jumped from the rolling car. The victim chased her down and captured he, according to police.

"Officer Goldstein was able to get back there, pull the victim off the suspect and secured the suspect," the release states.

The teen was arrested on a complaint of car theft, and the victim got his Impala back.
