Workers say Casa Linda Apartment residents should be able to return to their homes this weekend. A fire broke out Sunday at the apartments near 61st and Peoria.

The fire started near electrical junction boxes in the apartment laundry room, and about 100 people were displaced. Problems with the electrical wiring meant they have been out of their homes for several days.

Some residents lost clothes and other personal items. About 20 people have been staying at a Red Cross shelter - others elsewhere.

Repair crews came in and replaced the junction boxes, according to Casa Linda staff.

"Got the new boxes mounted and everything - we're just waiting on PSO," said Chester Swimp, maintenance worker.

"Electricians come hook it up, and we get it inspected  - we can all come back home."
