Arkansas and Planned Parenthood have asked a federal judge to extend her order blocking the state from enforcing new limits on how the abortion pill is administered.

The Arkansas attorney general's office and Planned Parenthood of the Heartland asked U.S. District Judge Kristine Baker on Thursday to extend her temporary restraining order until March 14. The two sides proposed deadlines Baker should set for filing motions and replies in the case.

Baker last week blocked the law, which requires abortion pill providers to follow guidelines set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, until Jan. 14.

The law, which was supposed to take effect Jan. 1, requires doctors providing the pill to maintain a contract with another physician with admitting privileges at a hospital who agrees to handle any complications.
